• Andrews Place Opens Strong & Gets Better

It was Standing Room only last Saturday nite for the Grand Opening of Andrews Place in the Furys Ferry Station shopping center. With Marilyn and Joe Adcock providing the entertainment, the place rocked for nearly 4 hours with about half of the more than 200 (estimated) attendees still there at the end. Those seated in the dining room were treated to complimentary drinks and food, although apparently bar patrons were not given free food.

All in all, it was a big success for owner Nicky Marks, but he’s not content with the status quo:

    1) He’s instituted a Happy Hour from 4 – 7 PM daily with competitive bar prices ($3 for well drinks, $2 for domestic and wines start at $5.

    2) He’s promised 1st class entertainment and he’s delivering — perennial Best of Augusta entertainer Eryn Eubanks and the Family Fold will be playing Wednesday nite, 12/18, starting at 6:30.

    3) I understand that food prices have been slashed, but I haven’t eaten a full meal there yet (but I intend to this Friday nite).

    4) And if you’re in Andrews Place by about 6:15 on Wednesday nite, you could become a media darling — a TV camera crew is coming in to shoot a publicity video, and you might just be the star, or starlet! Or, a groupie.

Furys Ferry Station is at the intersection of Furys Ferry Rd and Riverwatch Pkwy. So, get on out there. And then post a comment on this blog, telling us how you liked it or not and why.

I and my friends have favorite places we like to go for these activities, and I plan to write them -- and more -- and to post something new at least once a week. I invite you to comment on these and to post your own likes and dislikes. Let your friends, associates and co-workers know about it. Let's get a big dialogue going about the great, fun and worthwhile things to do & places to go in the Augusta area. You can also contact me by email at: handley411@comcast.net
